The movie "Here comes the Navy" staring James Cagney, Pat O'Brien, and Gloria Stuart was filmed aboard the USS Arizona in 1934.

There is a baby entombed aboard the USS Utah.

The USS Arizona Band did not participate, nor did they win the "Battle of the Bands" on December 6, 1941.  When all of the members of the 21 member band were killed 7 December 1941, the competing bands awarded the trophy to the Arizona Band and called it "The ARIZONA Trophy" with the 21 names inscribed. 

The DeRitis Playground in Philadelphia is named in honor of Russell Edwin DeRitis who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.

Paul Raymond Wright (USS Oklahoma Casualty) was posthumously awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal.

The Charles Braga, Jr. Memorial Bridge was named in honor of Charles Braga, Jr. who was killed aboard the USS Pennsylvania.

All but two of the members of the USS Arizona Whale Boat Team were killed.

USS Hollis (APD-86) was named in honor of Ralph "Red" Hollis who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.  The USS Hollis was present in Tokyo Bay during the Surrender Ceremony on September 2, 1945.            

USS Gosselin (APD-126) was named in honor of Edward Webb Gosselin who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.  The USS Gosselin was present in Tokyo Bay during the Surrender Ceremony on September 2, 1945.

The USS Van Valkenburgh (DD-656) was named in honor of Captain Franklin Van Valkenburgh, Captain of the USS Arizona who was killed during the attack.  Captain Van Valkenburgh was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Kidd (DD-661) was named in honor of Rear Admiral Isaac Campbell Kidd, Commander of Battleship Division One who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.  Rear Admiral Kidd was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Bennion (DD-662) was named in honor of Captain Mervyn Sharp Bennion, Captain of the USS West Virginia who was killed during the attack.  Captain Bennion was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Uhlmann (DD-687) was named in honor of Robert W. Uhlmann who was killed at Kanoehe Bay.

The USS Cassin Young (DD-793) was named in honor of Captain Cassin Young who was the captain of the USS Vestal and survived the attack.  Captain Young was awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Ross (DDG-71) was named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient, Captain Donald Kirby Ross who was a survivor aboard the USS Nevada.

The USS Edward C. Daly (DE-17) was named in honor of Edward C. Daly who was killed aboard the USS Downes.  Edward C. Dally was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross.

The USS Austin (DE-15) was named in honor of John Arnold Austin who was killed aboard the USS Oklahoma.  John Austin was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross.

The USS Emery (DE-28) was named in honor of Jack Mandeville Emery who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.

The USS Sederstrom (DE-31) was named in honor of Verdi Delmore Sederstrom who was killed aboard the USS Oklahoma.

The USS Manlove (DE-36) was named in honor of Arthur C. Manlove who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.

The USS Wyman (DE-38) was named in honor of Eldon P. Wyman who was killed aboard the USS Oklahoma.

The USS Sanders (DE-40) was named in honor of Eugene Thomas Sanders who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.

The USS Buckley (DE-51) was named in honor of John Daniel Buckley who was killed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station.

The USS Charles Lawrence (DE-53) was named in honor of Charles Lawrence who was killed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station.

The USS Daniel T. Griffin (DE-54) was named in honor of Daniel T. Griffin who was killed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station.

The USS Foss (DE-59) was named in honor of Rodney Shelton Foss who was killed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station.

The USS Gantner (DE-60) was named in honor of Samuel Merritt Gantner who was killed aboard the USS Nevada.

The USS Gary (DE-61 and DE-326) was named in honor of Thomas J. Gary who was killed aboard the USS California.

The USS George Washington Ingram (DE-62) and the USS George W. Ingram Museum & Memorial Park were named in honor of George Washington Ingram who was killed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station.

The USS Ira Jeffery (DE-63) was named in honor of Ira W. Jeffery who was killed aboard the USS California.

The USS Lee Fox (DE-65) and Fox-Eichelberger VFW Post 7415 were named in honor of Lee Fox, Jr. who was killed with Patrol Squadron 12.

The USS Bates (DE-68) was named in honor of Edward M. Bates who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.

The USS Cannon (DE-99) was named in honor of George H. Cannon who was killed on Sand Island.  George H. Cannon was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Christopher (DE-100) was named in honor of Harald Jensen Christopher who was killed aboard the USS Nevada.  Harald Christopher was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross.

The USS Flaherty (DE-135) was named in honor of Francis C. Flaherty who was killed aboard the USS Oklahoma.   Francis C. Flaherty was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Frederick C. Davis (DE-136) was named in honor of Frederick C. Davis who was killed aboard the USS Nevada.  Frederick Davis was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross.

The USS Herbert C. Jones (DE-137) was named in honor of Herbert C. Jones who was killed aboard the USS California.  Herbert C. Jones was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Hill (DE-141) was named in honor of Edwin J. Hill who was killed aboard the USS Nevada.  Edwin J. Hill was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Reeves (DE-156, later APD-52) was named in honor of Thomas James Reeves who was killed aboard the USS California.  Thomas James Reeves was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The USS Barber (DE-161) was named in honor of Malcolm Barber, Randolph Barber and Leroy Barbor who were all killed aboard the USS Oklahoma.

The USS Booth (DE-170) was named in honor of Robert Sinclair Booth, Jr. who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.

The USS Stern (DE-187) was named in honor of Charles M. Stern, Jr. who was killed aboard the USS Oklahoma.

The USS O'Neill (DE-188) was named in honor of William Thomas O'Neill, Jr. who was killed aboard the USS Arizona.

The USS Manning (DE-199) was named in honor of Milburn A. Manning who was killed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station.

The USS Neuendorf (DE-200) was named in honor of William Frederick Neuendorf, Jr. who was killed aboard the USS Nevada.
